Emergency services were called to the University of East Anglia following concerns about a 'foul smell'.
Norfolk Constabulary and crews from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service were called to the campus following routine maintenance of the drain system in the Estates building.
A 'foul smell' was released and staff were immediately evacuated.
Emergency services assessed and cleared the situation and a spokesperson for the university confirmed staff are now back in the building.
