Emergency services were called after reports of a man in an 'agitated' state on the pier at Gorleston.

Police contacted the coastguard after concerns were raised for the safety of a man who was on the pier this evening (Thursday, June 8).

Sgt Simon Atherton, police control room supervisor, said the man was a 'bit agitated' and a 'bit upset' but added they had since caught up with him and he was fine.

A coastguard spokesman said Gorleston Coastguard and the inshore lifeboat at Gorleston were assisting police with the job.
