The old post office in Aylsham could be turned into a fitness centre.

Zane Kennedy has applied to Broadland District Council for a change of use from shops to fitness centre at the Hungate Street site.

The building was historically used as a post office and then, up to about January last year, as small office space.

The application will be considered by Aylsham town councillors at a meeting on Wednesday, February 21.

In a design and access statement submitted with the application, Mr Kennedy, from Alby, said: “The intended use of the building is to provide fitness facilities to the town of Aylsham and the surrounding areas which will in turn benefit the overall community. Vehicular access to the site will remain unchanged.”

According to the application, it would employ six staff and be open from 7.30am to 9pm from Monday to Friday, and 7.30am to 8pm on weekends.
