Plans for up to 550 homes to the south of Wymondham have been published for residents to comment on.

Developer Pelham Holdings submitted a planning application for land off Silfield Road last March, but the application has just been registered by South Norfolk Council after the authority insisted the company provide further information on the development's environmental impact.

The deadline for members of the public to comment is January 27.

The applicant is working alongside fellow developer Endurance Estates, which also hopes to build up to 750 homes on an adjoining site, taking the total to approximately 1,300 new homes. The pair have worked collaboratively on a masterplan for the area, although Endurance Estates is still to submit a planning application for its piece of land.

Pelham Holdings' outline application includes the construction of 330 homes for the private market and 220 homes for social rent on the site just north of the A11. Among the facilities proposed are a community hall, a large green, a children's play area, the creation of a meadow a five hectare plot off Park Lane for the development of playing fields for Wymondham High School.
