A climbing wall, face painters and morris dancers will provide some of the excitement for families later this month.
The town's newly formed retailers group has been working hard to organise the event on Saturday, April 23 in the town centre which also includes children's rides and refreshments.
There will also be a special guest appearance from local radio station presenter Simon Rowe as St George, who will be wandering the town asking people for help to find the Dragon, which this year will be EDP reporter David Blackmore.
Maureen Hibling, member of the retail group, said: 'We hope that the town will join us in celebrating and enjoying the activities organised for all, it looks like it's going to be a great day.'
The town, which has a long history of marking the date, will again be putting on its red and white St George themed shop window-dressing display.
Downham Market residents are also being invited to get involved by taking part in a St George's day theme house decorating competition.
