YouTube star Nicola 'Nic' Haste has revealed what it is like to live with Multiple Sclerosis.

The Norwich-based makeup artist shared her diagnosis of the illness in an emotional 16-minute video posted online.

Multiple Sclerosis, or MS as it is commonly known, is a neurological condition that affects the nervous system and symptoms can occur in many parts of the body.

Haste, who posts beauty tutorials with her sister Samantha Chapman on a Youtube channel called Pixiwoo, told viewers she had been living with the disease for five years.

She said: 'My biological dad died from an illness called MS and he never gave me anything in my whole life apart from MS. I wanted to tell everyone for so long, but I had to deal with it myself first.'

The Vlogger first noticed symptoms after giving birth to her son Harry. She began experiencing difficulty seeing out of one eye.

Tests suggested she had optic neuritis, but a doctor friend encouraged her to have an MRI scan in case it was something more.

It was confirmed in February 2014 that the problems were in fact due to MS.

'I did cry myself to sleep every night thinking what if my vision never comes back,' she said. 'After about a week or so of feeling sorry for myself, I was like, I am not this person, I'm not gonna lay here crying and feeling sorry for myself, other people have it and get on with it, so I just got on with life.'

Haste praised her 'amazing' husband who researched the condition on her behalf and cooks every night to make sure she eats properly.

She added: 'A lot of my friends don't even know I have it because I would hate for anyone to feel sorry for me.

'I could have been told that I had a tumour behind my eye and I had a week to live, but I was told I have MS and I have a life to live not just a week.'
