A man in his 70s was airlifted to hospital with a suspected dislocated shoulder after falling while he was chasing his granddaughter on Cromer beach this afternoon.
Coastguards from Cromer and Sheringham were joined at the scene by the East Anglian Air Ambulance, which landed on the sand of the east beach 200m east of the Doctors' Steps.
The New Year's Day call came at 2.30pm, and was about 30 minutes before runners were set to begin the annual New Year's Day fun run on the prom. The 76-year-old was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
