A north Norfolk Scout group joined a candle-lit parade around East Runton Methodist church on Sunday, as part of a Christingle service held in aid of UK charity the Children's Society.
A congregation made up of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and their families sang carols including Little Donkey and Hark the Herald Angels Sing before assembling a Christingle made up of an orange, sweets and a candle.
The service, which was led by Sheringham circuit Methodist minister Rev David Philo, was organised by older group members, with 13-year-old Scouts Henry Keen and Liam Devlin writing prayers and giving a speech on the work of the Children's Society.
West Runton group Scout leader Paul Henriksen said the annual event, which has been held at East Runton for more than 15 years, gave youngsters an insight into how difficult some other children's lives are.
'I think it gives them an appreciation of how lucky we are,' he added. 'And that, even when we have such trials as the recent storms, there are people in the world who have far more to deal with.'
