Tots and Parents Line up for Pancake Fun

Flour, eggs and a sprinkling of snow provided the perfect recipe for pancake fun at Ladybird Nursery, Sheringham, on Tuesday.

Pupils wrapped up against bitter cold and, for a brief spell, light snowfall, to line up for races in the pre-school group's Cromer Road playground.

The 20 tots aged three and four ran relays around cones, flipping pancakes made by mum and committee member Kate Shawyer the previous day.

Mums, dads and grandparents turned out to join in the fun, cheering youngsters on and taking part in grown-ups races.

The annual event was organised by staff to raise funds towards a new £150 art easel, with Ladybird pupils asking family and friends to sponsor their running and flipping efforts.

Ladybird manager Louise Brock said the nursery relied on help from parents and members of the community for the 'extras' that regular funding did not stretch to cover.
