Around 100 kind-hearted men and women turned out in their finest red and white festive outfits for a Christmas-inspired fundraiser.

The 10km Santa Run took place around the grounds of Heveningham Hall, near Halesworth, on Saturday.

Muddy conditions meant many Santas were struggling for footing as they tackled the one lap route, known as the 'Hell Run'.

Organiser Lois Hunt said: 'It was really good – we are really pleased. The winner did it in about 40 minutes. Overall, including the spectators we had 300 to 400 people and 20 children at the kids' race.

'The Christmas market was selling trees, gifts, stocking fillers, cards and mulled wine. There was a fantastic atmosphere with a choir playing Christmas carols.'

The junior race took the children, dressed as elves or fairies, on a 3.3km course over open fields, with all runners receiving a medal.

The event raised money for Get Kids Going, a charity which supports disabled children and young people by providing sporting opportunities.
