American music legends The Soul Rebels had their audience dancing in the aisles at their Norfolk and Norwich Festival gig at Norwich Theatre Royal.
Bringing the sounds of New Orleans to the city on Sunday, they had practically everyone in the sold-out audience up on their feet and moving to the beat during their show that turned into one big party with an electric atmosphere.
The eight-piece brass band's take on jazz coupled with elements of funk, ska and hip hop was a definite hit with people of all ages in the Norwich Theatre Royal audience, which also enjoyed an opening set by The Ronnie Scott's All-Stars featuring MOBO nominated singer-songwriter Natalie Williams.
The Soul Rebels are among a number of music acts being brought to Norwich by the festival. Others include Portuguese fado singer Mariza, who takes to the Norwich Theatre Royal stage tonight, New York contemporary ensemble Bang On A Can All-Stars (Theatre Royal tomorrow) and Malian singer-songwriter Rokia Traoré (at Open in Norwich next Tuesday).
