The warm weather provided the perfect backdrop for the second Beccles Rose May Fete today featuring an eclectic line-up of local musicians and entertainment.

Held in the grounds of Ringsfield Village Hall, the day kicked off this morning with a performance from Hayley Chambers, who recently appeared in the Rising Stars' production of Les Miserables in Beccles, followed by a bonny baby competition and fun dog show with 12 classes.

Yvette-Marie Tackley, one of the organisers, said: 'We have been really busy and the weather has been perfect.

'We started the Rose May Fete last year because there wasn't much for families to do on the bank holiday in the local area, and it's been a real success.

'It's also gives local bands and artists a chance to perform.'

This afternoon visitors will be treated to more music from artists including international singer Jack W Ollett, Beccles swing singer Tom Elgie and Miss Fortune, a newly formed all-girl rock band from Norwich.

And in the display arena there will be performances from Bokwa Fitness, the Florida School of Dance and the Jive Bunnies.

The event is free to attend, with donations accepted. Any proceeds will go towards Beccles Carnival in August and the Halesworth Army Cadets who volunteered at the event.
