More than 330 vehicles went on display at the second Bungay Area Lions Club classic vehicle rally and country fayre yesterday.

Thousands of people visited Earsham Hall, near Bungay, to take a look at the classic cars, tractors, bikes, trucks and military vehicles on show, while enjoying entertainment from the Lowestoft Signing Choir and Castleton Brass Band.

Dawn Collis, one of the organisers said the rally was a massive success.

She said: “We definitely had more visitors than last year as well as more vehicles and stalls and everyone seemed to be really enjoying it.

“We were lucky with the weather and the food stalls were particularly popular. There was quite a few queues.

“This year’s event has given us even more ideas for next year.”

The event was attended by residents from all over East Anglia as well as car club members from Lowestoft and Norwich.

The vehicles were on display alongside a variety of entertainment for the family including Razz the clown and a bouncy castle, as well as charity stands, stalls selling crafts, sweets and jewellery, and auto jumble.

Funds raised from the event have not yet been counted up, but will go to local causes supported by the Lions.

Mrs Collis said: “Different groups and community projects apply to the Lions for funding so the money will be used to give them a boost.

“Last year we supported a project to buy a bladder scanner for Bungay Medical Practice.”
