A grandad of three got more than he bargained for during a fishing trip to Cromer today (Monday).
Brian West, 63, of Nottinghamshire, is currently visiting the seaside town with his family and decided to enjoy an afternoon of sea fishing off the pier but caught something rather unusual instead - a seagull.
Family friend Angela West, 61, said: 'It was bobbing on the top of the sea and managed to get tangled in his fishing rod.
'He reeled it in and helped to untangle it - even a nearby workman came to help us.'
Ms West added that the seagull is now 'safe and well'.
