A red phone box is to be transformed into a community library.
The defunct phone box in Priory Lane, North Wootton, will hold donated books for residents of all ages.
The parish council took over the phone box when they were notified that BT were going to dispose of it.
Clerk of North Wootton parish council, Rachel Curtis, said: “It will hold a wide range of books for all age groups, as well as posters for community events and a space for sharing local produce, like flowers.”
The North Wootton Women’s Institute joined the project and offered to have the phone box painted and shelved.
A nearby florist, Flowers in the Green, will hold a charity pot for donations towards the upkeep of the book bank.
The official opening on Friday, July 21, at 2pm, will be attended by West Norfolk mayor Carol Bower.
