A pedestrian who was hit by a car in Acle suffered a head injury after colliding with the windscreen.

The man, in his 40s, was taken to the James Paget University Hospital after being involved in the crash earlier today.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) said they were called to The Street just after 11.30am. A paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance crew attended to treat a man 'who had been injured after hitting the windscreen of the car'.

The 'minor' injury was not believed life-threatening.

A spokesman for Norfolk police said the car involved was a Citroën Picasso.
