Expeditions to Sweden, Morocco and the USA were on the minds of a group of teenagers when they undertook an 18-mile sponsored hike along the coastline from Blakeney to Sheringham.

The party are members of a Norfolk-based group called Pathfinders, formed about a year ago for those with a taste for adventure.

Each hiker aimed to raise 100-200, with some opting to donate half their sponsorship to Help for Heroes.

The group, which has about 30 members, is planning summer trips to Sweden to take part in a military competition, and a training visit to Kentucky where they will be working with the US Army Cadet Corps. In the autumn they are off on a Land Rover-based expedition to Morocco, and they will be travelling to the USA again next Easter to work with the US Marshals Service, the States' federal law enforcement agency.

Spokeswoman Sophie Lowe said they organised and fund-raised for all their activities. She added: 'We also do things like diving, wake-boarding and paint-balling, in the meantime, as smaller activities.'

The group also helped provide educational and work experience for members, and had forged links with Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.
