An young otter which was rescued from a sewage tank is on the mend.
A worker at the works near Stowmarket called the RSPCA when he spotted the tiny pup after it fell down a storm drain three weeks ago.
It was touch and go for the tiny creature, who was very poorly when he arrived at the RSPCA's East Winch Wildlife Centre, near King's Lynn. The officer who collected him said she didn't think he'd make it that far.
But the bedraggled pup soon responded to some warm bedding and his favourite food - fillets of trout. Now he's strong enough to leave the wildlife hospital and travel to a specialist centre in the New Forest.
Centre manager Alison Charles said rehabilitating the animal could take up to a year.
She said: 'It's really difficult to rehabilitate them but we work with other specialist organisations and hope we can build up his strength so he can be released back into the wild next year.'
