Runners will soon be able to add a new parkrun to their calendar, with organisers getting ready for the inaugural run in Colney.
Colney Lane parkruns will take place at the University of East Anglia Colney Lane playing fields every Saturday at 9am, with the first event on Saturday, December 9.
The length of the run is 5km and it is free to take part in, although people who have not yet taken part in a parkrun need to register in advance and people need to take a barcode for their time to be recorded.
The event is run entirely by volunteers and anyone who wants to get involved should email colneylanehelpers@parkrun.comParkrun started in 2004 when 13 runners got together in Bushy Park, Teddington. It is now an international company with millions of runners taking part in weekly runs across the world.
Other places which host parkruns include Eaton Park, Catton Park, Mulbarton, Brundall and Blickling.
