On Saturday a fine day saw the opening of the bowling green at Bradwell.

It also saw chairman Chris Wells and vice chairman Ted Howlett (pictured) of the parish council open the new bar, developed over the winter season by members of the club.

Mr Howlett gave an interesting talk on the modern era history of the club. A warm Saturday saw 40 bowlers take part in a drive with Ray Walker winning 37-6. Second was Jean Moore 32-14 and third Ted Connellan 28-10.

On a fine but cooler Monday, 38 bowlers competed with Mick Walker keeping it in the family with a 37-10 win, second was Peter F Smith 31-14, and third Barbara Smith 28-20. The first batch of the new club shirt was ready to collect and the second order will go off Monday so please get your orders in before then.

The club website bradwellbowlingclub.co.uk is coming along and is the place to go for news and announcements.
