Anyone with dreams of the theatre will enjoy tomorrow's (Saturday, August 26) open day at Norwich's Theatre Royal, which will give visitors an insight into what happens on stage, backstage and behind the scenes.

Visitors will be able to try on costumes and use the spotlight, and special activities for children will include biscuit decorating, face painting and balloon modelling. Communications officer Judy Foster said: 'Our open day is a wonderful, fun event for all ages with lots to do, and it really is the only time in the year when visitors get the chance to see what happens behind the scenes as we work to bring them the vast array of magical shows we have on our stage.'

There will also be a display of archival material and a chance to buy theatre costumes. The event is free and runs from 10am to 4pm.
