A man in his 40s has been injured after his motorised glider crash landed in a field near Burgh St Peter this evening.
An ambulance service spokesman said the pilot suffered injuries to his leg and ankle after the aircraft came down in a field off Staithe Road at around 7.15pm.
The spokesman said a police helicopter was used to transport the casualty to a waiting ambulance due to the difficult terrain, which was described as marshland.
He has since been taken to the James Paget Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
Fire crews from Gorleston and Great Yarmouth were sent to the scene shortly before 7.50pm and helped rescue the man.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
