One person has been cut free from a car at a busy Gorleston junction following an accident.

Emergency services were called to the traffic lights on the A143 Beccles Road, where it turns into Southtown Road, at around 11.56am.

The accident, between two vehicles, resulted in fire crews from Gorleston and Great Yarmouth using hydraulic rescue equipment to cut a casualty free.

They also made the vehicles and the scene safe.

The air ambulance is reported to have taken the casualty to hospital.

Traffic was being diverted via the by-pass, but the road is now open.
