A guide group have reached their 85th year and celebrated by bringing former and present guides together in a tea party celebration.

Hundreds of girls will have been part of the 1st Old Catton Guides group since it opened in 1927 and many of them came together to share stories, and look back over old photos and scrapbooks.

Rosemary Shimmens, 74 from Spixworth, who helped organise the event, joined the group in 1949 as a Girl Guide and is now a member of the Old Catton Trefoil Guild.

She said: 'We kept in touch, and had some women come from other parts of the country to the celebration from Sheffield and Cambridge.'

Pictured are three photos taken at the village hall from different times in the group's history – 1952, which was the group's 25 anniversary, 1932, and 1928.
