The power generation module, built by Sembmarine SLP, is being taken to the Culzean field in the North Sea, east of Aberdeen, to be used by Maersk Oil UK.

The giant new module is an important component in Maersk Oil's Culzean gas condensate development and will be part of the largest gas field sanctioned by the UK since East Brae in 1990.

Paul Brooks, ABP Port Manager at Lowestoft, said: 'We are proud to be working closely with our long-term partners Sembarine SLP and play a key part in such a complex and important project.

Paul Thomson, Sembmarine SLP Ltd Managing Director, said: 'The Culzean Project is a good example of how large offshore projects can be completed by close collaboration between our parent company Semcorp Marine Offshore Platforms based in Singapore and our UK facilities based in Lowestoft.'
