Old Buckenham Airfield will be awash with mock battles, vintage tanks and authentic uniforms at its second military revival event in October.

After a successful first year Matt Wilkins, airfield manager, said that the team were upping the stakes for their second event - with a nuclear missile and SAS legend Bob Pedesta the star attractions.

'Last year was brilliant, it really exceeded our expectations, but we have much more this year,' he said.

Mr Pedesta served in the SAS for 25 years and trained the team who famously stormed the Iranian embassy in 1980 and brought notoriety to the British army's most secretive unit.

Mr Wilkins described having the army legend at the show as 'a real honour'.

Taylor's of Attleborough will give cause to raise a toast with four specially brewed beers - each with military inspired names.

'They are called the 453rd, after the USAAF Bombardment Group stationed here during the war, Bob, after Mr Pedesta, Gridsquare Remover, the nickname of multiple rocket launch system and REMEs - the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers,' Mr Wilkins explained.

An array of vintage vehicles, tanks and a trench warfare display will keep the most enthusiastic military buffs busy, with a 1940s hangar dance also planned for Saturday night.

Mr Wilkins said that the event was a 'great fun weekend with a serious message - don't underestimate the the work our men and women do'.

'It gives people who might not have been interested in military history a chance to find out more,' he added.

The military revival show will take place at Old Buckenham Airfield from Saturday, October 4 to Sunday, October 5. Tickets cost £10 per person per day and children under 12 go free.
