Paige, real name Saraya-Jade Bevis, was suspended alongside her boyfriend Alberto Del Rio. The suspensions were announced within hours of each other and on the day of Paige's 24th birthday.

In a statement posted to the WWE website, the company said: 'WWE has suspended Saraya-Jade Bevis (Paige) for 30 days effective tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 18, for her first violation of the company's talent wellness policy'.

The WWE implemented its WWE Talent Wellness Program in 2006 and it includes substance abuse and drug testing, cardiovascular testing, ImPACT, testing for brain function, annual physicals and health care referrals.

No further information was given by WWE about why the former Hewett School student was suspended and Paige has issued no public statement on the matter.

The 24-year-old became a household name in the wrestling world in 2014 when she was named the NXT Women's Champion and WWE Divas Champion, the only person to hold the titles concurrently.

Paige is part of a wrestling family with her dad Ricky Night and mum Sweet Saraya founding the World Association of Wrestling in 1994, which in its 22 years has gone on to become one of Britain's leading wrestling promotions.

Her brother's Zak and Roy Knight are also wrestlers and together make up a team called the UK Hooligans, who currently hold WAW's Tag Team Titles.
