But when she found herself out of both education and employment, her dream of becoming a model seemed far away.

That was until she approached an employment coach at YMCA, who pulled together resources from across Norwich to kick start Miss De Silva’s modelling career.

Following a volunteering modelling job at Jarrold’s Fasion Show, Miss De Silva was offered a photo shoot from local photographer Julia Holland, as well having her hair and make up done, and her clothes for the shoot provided by the department store.

Ms Holland said: “It was wonderful to see how Ines grew in confidence during the fashion show, and I wanted to offer more help in her potential modelling career, so a portfolio starter shoot seemed like a great way of supporting her future dreams.”

Carole Slaughter, marketing manager at Jarrolds said: “Jarrold are very pleased to have been able to help Ines with clothes, hair and make up for her photo shoot – the results of which are outstanding and we hope a great start to her portfolio.”

Miss Da Silva said: “I never thought one of my dreams would actually come true. I’m very grateful-I was supposed to find a job, but I found a dream job. I guess if you start believing in yourself and start getting the help that you need you might get [what] you always wanted.”
