A student from Norwich University of the Arts has reached the finals of the Hillarys Blinds competition.
In late September, Ches Young, 21, a textile student, entered her designs with the hope of winning the chance to have her creation printed onto one of the company's products.
Lecturers at her university suggested Miss Young should enter the competition and the young designer was surprised when she received an email confirming her place in the final. She said: 'I couldn't believe it when I heard I had made it to the final. I was really excited.'
The theme of Scandinavia ran across her board of fabrics and the budding interior designer is now waiting to hear if she has won.
Miss Young, who is from Bury St Edmunds, added: 'I had a call from Hillarys Blinds and the woman asked me lots of questions about my work and they said they would let me know... Things like this never happen to me.'
