A daughter's moving tribute to her father and a performance by youngsters as young as five will be just some of the highlights when city skaters take to the ice this weekend.

Planet Ice Norwich will hold its annual skating exhibition this Sunday.

The event has become a popular fixture at the Hellesdon rink and will see 50-plus skaters perform group, solo and paired routines.

As part of the show, experienced skater Becky Stone is set to raise awareness of Norwich-based children's bereavement charity Nelson's Journey with a tribute for her dad who died 10 years ago.

Young five-year-olds who only started skating six months ago will perform to Cinderella's Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo dressed as mice.

Skaters will also take to the ice with kites, dressed as penguins and in costume as good and bad angels.

Hayley Bond, from Planet Ice Norwich, who coordinates the show, said: 'The show is a big deal for Norwich. We don't have a lot of competitions available to us and we don't have a lot of events that other rinks have, so this gives our skaters something to work towards. They love it and really enjoy doing it.'

Doors open at 6pm with the show due to start at 6.30pm. Tickets cost 5 on the door.
