Rail passengers travelling on the Norwich line can expect delays of up to 25 minutes following a fire.

Emergency services were called to the Trowse swing bridge shortly after 4.10pm today to reports that a signal box had caught fire.

But on arrival they found it had already been extinguished.

Abellio Greater Anglia has now warned passengers that they can expect delays of up 25 minutes to services from Norwich station.

It said customers travelling on trains between London Liverpool Street and Norwich with advanced tickets may travel up to 60 minutes earlier or later than their booked train.

Disruption is expected until 6.15pm.
