Norwich shoppers have the chance to get into the Olympic spirit after a Paralympic hopeful helped launch a range of merchandise at a city department store.

Great Britain wheelchair basketball star Amy Conroy today (Friday) marked the official opening of the London 2012 shop at John Lewis.

The ground floor shop, which has more than 100 official Olympic and Paralympic Games products, is one of 27 at John Lewis stores across the country.

Isabel Macdonald, managing director of the All Saints Green store, said: 'As the Games get closer, people will be getting so excited and I think people will be really proud and will want something to remember the occasion by.'

The store's general manager Richard Marks added: 'We hope we will see a lot of visitors to Norwich this summer, the city is so well linked to Stratford, and hopefully they will come in here to buy something from the London 2012 shop.'

John Lewis is the official department store provider to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Within the London 2012 collection, people can buy anything from pin badges to biscuit tins, clothing to duvet covers.

Former Notre Dame High School pupil Miss Conroy, 19, said: 'The hype for London 2012 is fantastic and it's great to see how everyone is getting behind the Games.'
