A 53-year-old Norwich man collapsed and died while on holiday in Mugla, Turkey, an inquest heard.

Simon Gibbons, from Oak Lane, Old Catton, was on holiday with his wife when he collapsed on August 4 last year.

Yesterday's Norwich inquest was told that a document was prepared in Turkey following Mr Gibbons' death.

This stated that the couple were walking close to a market when Mr Gibbons said he did not feel well.

An ambulance was called and he was taken to hospital but his condition deteriorated and he died the next day.

A post mortem examination carried out in Turkey reported that his death resulted from a previous cardiovascular disease.

A second post mortem examination was also carried out at the Norfolk and Norfolk University Hospital. Evidence of coronary heart disease was found in both post mortems, and the cause of death was finally given as Ischaemic heart disease.

Jacqueline Lake, deputy coroner for Norfolk, recorded a verdict of death from natural causes.
