A Filipino community group has celebrated its 10th anniversary in the city.

Pinoy In Norwich Aksyong Samahan (PINAS) was formed in 2005 by 12 nurses from the Philippines.

It aimed to provide its members with a chance to meet new people and socialise.

Since then it has gone on to host large-scale events and even consular support for those in need.

President Tess Ward, who is originally from Manila, said: 'We are very proud of our many achievements over the past years, and recognise that our success is a testament to our community's deep commitment to encourage Filipino solidarity, friendly relationships and healthy wellbeing.'

Each year the group hosts the Barrio Fiesta, which celebrates Filipino culture, and numerous sports competitions.

It's anniversary celebrations took place at Sprowston Community High School on Saturday and featured live music and dancing.
