As the competition heats up to be named the best high street in the country, we're encouraging everyone to get behind our city and show why we deserve to win.

Earlier this week, the city's Castle/Arcade district was shortlisted in the third annual Great British High Street competition.

Up against two other cities, Derby pulled ahead yesterday, with Norwich in second place and Bristol in third. But with voting closing in November there is still plenty of time, and today this newspaper is urging you to support your city by displaying the poster enclosed in today's edition.

Norwich Evening News editor David Powles said: 'We're delighted Norwich has been shortlisted for such an award and, as is shown with the Norwich Lanes, victory can make such a difference.

'We hope all our readers join us to get behind the hard-working staff and business owners.'

If your poster is missing, pop into Archant's office at Prospect House, Rouen Road, Norwich, to pick one up. You can also download the poster using the link above. To vote visit www.thegreatbritishhighstreet.co.uk/finalist-city-location and follow @TheGBHighSt on Twitter.
