An up and coming city market which celebrates everything creative about Norwich has been hailed a success.
The second Norwich Creative Market did not disappoint as it proved more popular than the first.
Unlike your usual market, this invited creative businesses from over the county to promote their creativity, give advice to visitors and sell some products - including home ware, garden ware and fashion accessories.
Charlotte Whitehead, organiser of Norwich Creative Market, said the it was proving popular and a further two markets are planned for later in the year.
Ms Whitehead said: “I held the first creative market in April with more than 35 local designers, makers and artists. It hosts a carefully curated selection of modern and traditional crafts - something suitable for every budget.”
All the items sold at the event were designed and made by local creators, from first time stall holders on a new business venture to established artisans.
After a successful first two events, a further two have been organised, one for Saturday, August 11 and another for Sunday, December 9.
Ms Whitehead has also launched an innovative new subscription box ready for a summer kickstarter campaign and a Christmas delivery.
Each month three to five local artists will contribute to a curated delivered box. The idea is that there will be no big brands so customers will know that their money is going to support small businesses, making a significant difference to those included in the box.
Ms Whitehead added: “There will also be a monthly ‘Creative Market Kit’ box, a step-by-step guide and materials for people to learn a new hobby, and take a little ‘me time’ from the often stressful world around them.”
The free event held over the weekend saw more than 50 different stalls based at St Andrew’s Hall - an increase on the 20 stalls that were at the first market.
Ms Whitehead has promised the next market is to be the ‘big one’ with more than 80 stalls.
Applications are currently open to anyone wishing to be a stall holder at the market.
