Five-year-old Izzie Eve, from Beetley, near Dereham, suffers from cerebral palsy and her family are trying to raise £10,000 to buy the chair to help her get around.

Now a team of former Norwich City stars will be taking on Dereham Town FC as part of a charity day to help Izzie's cause.

Former Canaries who will be taking part include Darren Eadie, Iwan Roberts, Scott Howie, Craig Fleming and Leon McKenzie.

TV personality Tubes, from Sky Sports's Soccer AM, and actor Dean Gaffney will be taking part.

Dereham chairman Simon Barnes said: 'Ticket sales have been going well for this charitable event and we expect there to be 1,000-1,500 people here at Aldiss Park.

'I've known Izzie's mother and father for most of my life, which is why I got involved. To have all these lads turn out for the charity is fantastic, and hopefully we'll get enough money together to pay for Izzie's wheelchair.'

The chair will help Izzie at school and to play with her classmates on the playground.

Robert Court helped organise the Norwich team as well as sponsorship for the event. He said: 'We want to make it a real family event, it is not just about the football.

'Of course the ex-footballers will be a major draw and Darren Eadie has been fantastic in organising it.

'These guys are all giving up their time for nothing, which is fantastic.

'Aldiss Park has a capacity of about 2,500 people and we are hoping, if the weather is kind, to get that.

'About £6,000 is needed for the chair, but we are hoping to raise a magical amount for Izzie.'

As well as football, the event has a number of activities including face painting, music by The Voice semi-finalist Bill Downes and various games for children.

There will also be refreshments available and an auction which includes an array of great memorabilia and prizes.

Tickets for the game are priced at £4 for adults and £1 for children, with doors opening at 1pm on Sunday and kick-off will be at 3pm.
