The Shape of You singer posted a photo of himself sitting on a quad bike, wearing an Ipswich Town football shirt.

Despite the 27-year-old being raised in Suffolk, many Canaries fans were shocked to discover his allegiance to the rival team.

Instagram user curtislondon commented: 'Take that dirty shirt off!'

While parrisnatasha93 added: 'Nice photo, shame about the shirt.'

James Medler said: 'I guess someone has to support them #disappointed.'

One Norwich City fan even went as far as to say they would 'never by another Ed Sheeran CD or gig ticket again'.

Others chose to flood the comments with yellow and green hearts.

The musician has previously shown support for Ipswich at an East Anglian derby match in 2017, where he was pictured photo bombing NCFC legends Adam Drury and Grant Holt, with his middle fingers up.
