Norwich Camping and Leisure has generously donated over 500 worth of equipment to Serv Norfolk, the emergency rider charity.

The marquee, table and chairs will be used at fundraising events throughout Norfolk by the charity.

Directors of Norwich Camping and Leisure, Trevor and Marcia Holmes, presented the equipment to Serv - which stands for Service by Emergency Rider Volunteers - at their Blofield store yesterday.

The charity is completely voluntary, running on donations only, and all of its motorcycle riders are well qualified, experienced and dedicated to the cause.

They play a vital part in hospital emergencies and are on call from 7pm to 7am, 52 weeks a year, including Christmas Day, carrying blood, plasma, platelets and samples for urgent analysis at no charge, saving the NHS thousands of pounds and helping to save lives throughout Norfolk.

Serv will also transport milk from human donors to premature babies in need.
