A Norwich brewery has been shortlisted in a national contest which celebrates the finest independent canned beers.

Redwell Brewing's Steam Lager has made the final 13 in the Indie Beer Can Festival 2016, which promotes the benefits of selling canned beers over their bottled counterparts.

Run by The Can Makers, the competition also considers drinks which are not currently available in cans.

Redwell's success comes after two rounds of judging, including a blind taste test, which saw their lager whittled down from the original 131 entries to just 34 - before the final 13 were chosen.

The brewery, which is based at Bracondale, is up against three other finalists in the lager category.

All will be showcased at an industry festival in London on May 12 this year, when the winners will be announced.
