Norwich accountancy apprentice working at his old Norwich school makes final five in top award
An accountancy apprentice in Norwich working at his old school has made the final five in a national award.
Charlie Atkins has made the finals in the Accountancy Apprentice of the Year category in the PQ Awards.
While Mr Atkins described himself as a “bit of a show off” at school, he knuckled down ahead of his GCSEs and went onto study at sixth form.
He started a career in the NHS, but applied to Right for Success, which now runs his former school, Sewell Park Academy.
He said: ‘Right for Success has invested a lot of time, money and effort into my apprenticeship. The trust has really helped me find out who I am as an individual, what I am capable of and have really helped me gain confidence in my own ability.”
He will now find out if he won the award at a ceremony at London’s Café de Paris on February 20, where he will be accompanied by the trust’s director of finance Phil Beecher.
