There were smiles all round from the small group of trustees and volunteers of North Wymondham Community Centre when the news came in that they had received £10,000 towards essential roof repairs.

The charity-owned and maintained building in Lime Tree Avenue, Wymondham has annual running costs of £6,000 and the volunteer management team was shocked to discover that roof repairs totalling up to £20,000 were required.

A combination of fundraising events and individual donations has brought the target within reach and it is hoped the shortfall can be made up in time for the repairs to be completed over the summer period.
