North Norfolk Photographic Society is taking part in the Mersea Island Cup against five other clubs.

Society spokesman Robin Johnson said: 'The clubs are widely spread – Tonbridge, Colchester, Vale, Camborne and Redruth and East Ipswich.

'The clubs all submitted 10 pictures and all are judged at the clubs' meetings by six different judges. The end result is not known until all six contests have taken place and the total marks totted up.

'But at the Holt venue on February 2, we beat them all. Judge Peter Yeo, from Lincolnshire, complimented us on achieving top marks for two entries - Diana Knight's Chameleon in Action and Paul Keates' Preening.'

Mr Yeo has been a selector for a number of national and international exhibitions.

The society normally meets on the first and third Wednesdays monthly at Holt community centre.
