New Viking martial arts classes could be coming to Cromer, after a successful start in Bradwell, near Great Yarmouth.
Set up by one of the founding members of re-enactment group The Dragon Shields, the class offers the best of both the worlds of Oriental martial arts and Viking combat.
Classes, which are run by the Dragon Shields Dark-Age Warband, will give people the chance to learn the art of the Viking sword and shield, spear and axe. Participants will receive individual and team training, practise with wooden and metal replica weapons and test their skills against other clubs.
David Holman, who leads the classes, said: 'I have more than 20 years of experience in Viking re-enactment and have studied martial arts since I was 16, so to me, it made sense to try and combine the two somehow.'
