The county's first Norfolk Day is making a splash in north Norfolk.

Nearly 300 events are being held across the region to celebrate all the wonderful things about the place we call home.

Cllr John Lee, North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) leader, said: 'There is a huge amount to celebrate about Norfolk every day, but having a specific day set aside to celebrate our county means even greater recognition, which is to be welcomed.'

And here is just a selection of what people have getting up to in our part of the county.

Mannington Estate is offering half price entry to the gardens for the day and there will be various displays in the hall which is only normally open to the public by appointment. Visitors will be able to explore the Walpole's presence in Norfolk over the last seven centuries including Bishop Walpole, Saint Henry Walpole, Sir Robert Walpole, Horace Walpole, The Earls of Orford and Admiral Nelson, with the history of these characters brought to life through paintings, photographs, prints, costumes and ceramics from Lord and Lady Walpole's collections. The gardens will be open from 11am to 5pm.
