Staff at NorseCare have pitched in to keep the service running smoothly throughout the snowy weather.

Yesterday, staff from Great Yarmouth drove to the care village at Bowthrope in Norwich, while others covered shifts in their local homes for those unable to get it.

And with many schools closed, Norse catering teams have covered for care team cooks where necessary.

Staff with children were encouraged to bring them in to work to sit and entertain residents, some did colouring and other activities.

While others made a snowman for the tenants and residents to see from the warmth of inside.

Karen Knight, managing director, even worked a shift in the café at the Bowthorpe Care Village.

Some staff decided to stay overnight at care homes, to make sure they could still work if conditions were too dangerous to travel.

A spokesman said: 'All in all, it's been a great effort by our team to keep some of Norfolk's most vulnerable older people safe, warm and well.'
