Norfolk teen tipped to win Chilean X Factor
A Norfolk teenager is being tipped to win Chile's version of the X Factor.
Charlie Bick, 19, from Methwold near Thetford, is currently based in the Chilean capital Santiago and had only been learning Spanish for a matter of months when he auditioned for the show.
But he had come close to not making it through the first stage when his version of Robbie William's Angels, sung in English, failed to win the judges over.
He was then asked to sing in Spanish and his rendition of Enrique Iglesias' Hero proved more popular.
'When I walked on the stage I was actually way more nervous about talking with the judging panel because of my Spanish,' he said 'I was worried I wasn't going to understand something so I wasn't really thinking about the songs.
'I didn't sing it very well and I think I could have sung it better but I think I sung it badly because of the nerves and the whole situation. They gave me a second opportunity and asked me to sing in Spanish and it was a lot better.
'It was funny because all of the judging panel was saying I should forget singing in English because I was better in Spanish so it was a big surprise.'

Mr Bick said he had an 'amazing' reaction from the crowd, including a certain amount of female attention, and was even being recognised in the street.
'I'm feeling confident and think I have a very good chance of going far,' he added. 'It's great for me because I have a passion for singing and have sung since I was a kid but singing out here gives it a strange element.'
