The England supporters band have been providing the soundtrack to the nation's games for the last 22 years.

Now, a Norwich landlord is attempting to recreate the stadium atmosphere in his pub by hosting his own live England band.

Phil Cutter of the Murderers and Gardeners Arms has booked a four-piece group to perform during tonight's knockout match against Colombia, which could see England reach their first World Cup Quarter-Final since 2006.

He said: 'We keep seeing the England supporters band on TV and thought we can recreate that atmosphere in the pub.

'That band is really iconic now and you can hear them in the background of the games for the World Cup and we thought, lets bring a bit of Russia to the Murderers.'

Phil is also hoping that this won't be the last time the band makes an appearance during this World Cup.

'Hopefully if we can get through tonight we'll get them back for Saturday and make it into a real party atmosphere.'

Other pubs across the city are also broadcasting the game. The Woolpack Inn, The Lamb Inn and Open Norwich among many others will show England's effort to book their place in the last eight.

The Castle Mall are also offering a themed game room with table football sets surrounded by flags of the teams competing.

Elsewhere in Norfolk, the Gallery Bistro in Fakenham will be showing the game on three of their large HD screens, while The White Horse in Neatishead and The Red Lion in Coltishall will be welcoming fans for the crunch fixture.

In King's Lynn, the Eagle will start their pre-match warm up, which includes a pub wide sing-along and face painting, at 6pm before the game kicks off at 7pm. The Maid's Head will too be showing the game.

Traditional Diss pub The Greyhound has been decorated with flags of every nation to celebrate the World Cup and the Water Front Inn located next to the Mere offers a scenic view to forget all about the game, should England lose.

However, as venues across Norfolk prepare for tonight's clash, fans across the county will be hoping that football fever can continue for at least a little while longer yet.
