Motorists have tonight been advised to stay indoors unless they really have to venture out as the snow continues to make driving conditions hazardous.

A band of wintry weather has moved across the county this afternoon making driving conditions difficult and resulting in a number of weather related incidents.

Gritters have been out - and will be heading out again later - to try and keep the roads open but with First Buses cancelling all its remaining services in Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft this evening and Norwich Airport also closed because of the weather the advice is to stay at home.

Sergeant Peter Sharples in the Norfolk police control room at Wymondham said there have been 'a number of vehicles which have left the road' this evening as a result of drivers having 'lost control' because of the road conditions.

He said: 'Consider whether you really need to be out there on the roads in this weather and if you have to, drive to the conditions.'
