A trio of fearless females are proving you can still look fabulous in your 40s and fantastic at 50 after posing in their swimwear for a charity calendar.

Bev Andrews, Kim Balding and Mandy Jenner got down to their bikinis to make the Norfolk Country Roses 2012 calendar, which they are selling in aid of the Make A Wish Foundation - a charity which organises one in a lifetime activities for youngsters suffering from life threatening illnesses.

The calendar concept was dreamt up by Mrs Andrews, from North Walsham, who decided she wanted to do something different to raise money for a good cause.

After striking upon her idea she recruited Mrs Balding, 50, from Oulton, and Mrs Jenner, 49, from Burgh Castle near Great Yarmouth - who both have three children - and together they managed to pull off all the shots they needed in just a day.

Mum-of-one Mrs Andrews, 49, said: 'We finished at 8.30pm. The photographer did say 'you do realise it takes between one to two weeks to do a calendar shoot?' We just loaded up the car and off we went.

'My daughter came along and helped with hair, make up and props. It was good fun, I thoroughly enjoyed it.'

Mrs Jenner, who went to college with Mrs Andrews, added: 'I've known Bev a long time now and thought it a brilliant idea of hers to do some fundraising using a different approach other than running, swimming, walking or sponsored silence - now that would be a feat in itself for Bev!

'I was happy to take part for such a worthy cause.'

The fresh faced mums also posed for shots in evening gowns and on the back of a Harley Davidson motorbike, which a friend of Mrs Andrews lent them as the ultimate prop for the shoot.

The Sadlers Way resident, who works as a PA in Cromer, began thinking of an alternative fundraiser in the spring and was determined to do something different to raise money for her chosen charity.

'Most people do sponsored walks or bike rides, I thought it would be nice for me and my friends, who are all over 45, just to prove you can still look good at our age,' she said.

And the early proofs of their pictures have proved a hit with friends and family as well as strangers, some of whom cannot believe their ages.

The trio are hoping to raise at least 500 through their A3 sized calendar, which is set to go on sale in the next two weeks. But this will not mark the end of Mrs Andrews' charity calendar efforts as she is already thinking up themes for another fundraising 2013 publication.
